A Ballet Dream: Opening Tutu School Halcyon

Ashley Vetek grew up moving around the country with her family as they journeyed with her father who was in the Air Force. Everywhere she went, Ashely quickly found a new dance studio, embracing ballet as a passion that shaped her life. Later, she followed in her father’s footsteps and also joined the Air Force, where she met her husband. After spending 7 years in Charleston together, with 2 children and 2 dogs, they decided to relocate to Alpharetta – an area they were thrilled to call home.

“We actually evacuated to Alpharetta from Charleston during a hurricane and fell in love!” Ashley shared. “We knew this was where we wanted to move.” When her husband took a job with Delta, they made it happen.

Now, in a new location, with two young children – and COVID hit – Ashley spent some time reflecting on how she really wanted to spend her time. An entrepreneur at heart, she knew she loved dance and wanted pursue building something she could truly be passionate about. After discovering the Tutu School franchise, she talked to Genevieve, the CEO and Founder, and fell in love.

“They focus on diversity and giving every child a chance to know what it feels like to dance. I really identified with that because dance was such an important part of my life growing up. It set the foundation for who I was as a person,” shared Ashley.

And then, Tutu School Halcyon in Alpharetta was born!
